A new debate has started regarding the name of the world-famous Jim Corbett National Park. RS Bhadauria, who was the Chief Wildlife Warden of undivided Uttar Pradesh in 1980 after Ashwini Choubey, formerly the Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has written a letter to the Union Minister of State, advocating that Corbett should be renamed as Ramganga.
In this regard, Assistant Inspector General of Forests, NTCA, Hemant Singh, has sought the opinion of the Chief Wildlife Warden of Uttarakhand. Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) Director Rahul said that Rahul had received a letter from the former IFS from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). But so far, no action has been initiated in this regard from the departmental level. Its report will be prepared and sent to NTCA.

Corbett was named Hailey National Park at its establishment in the year 1936. In 1954-55 it was renamed Ramganga National Park. A year later, Ramganga National Park changed its name to Corbett Park.
